Attend a Demo at Village Art Supply
July 19, 2013 Comments Off on Attend a Demo at Village Art SupplyWe offer demonstrations and classes for artists as well as patrons of our store who have an affinity for or a lifelong interest in exploring their inner artist. Our sessions are often geared to the budding artist you see in your child as well as unique classes for anyone interested in the Manga medium, landscape oil painting, or drawing. We are also adding new classes and demonstrations to our schedule all the time so feel free to bookmark our Events page to keep up to date on everything we offer at our store.
Upcoming Free Demonstrations
Many of our classes have a registration fee but we often have free art demonstrations at our store as well. One such event is this Saturday, July 20th from 1 to 3 p.m. Local artist and Sennelier representative Kirk Gillespie will be demonstrating how to use Sennelier Extra Fine Acrylics and Mediums. For anyone who enjoys working with acrylics, this demonstration will offer the chance to see these intensely pigmented colors, manufactured by Sennelier, in action. There will also be a Special Discount for the day: 30% off on all Sennelier Acrylics and Mediums. Click here to learn more about this free Sennelier demonstration.
We have another free demo coming up in August. It’s called the Golden “A to Z” of Acrylics with Tesia Blackburn, and it takes place on August 18th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. In this demo you’ll gain information about mineral and modern pigments and learn how this relates to clean color mixing, glazing, and the creation of fabulous new colors. You’ll also learn the unique properties of Fluids, Heavy Body, and the OPEN acrylics. Discover Interference and Iridescent paints for unusual effects. Get a grip on the many gels and mediums and how they can change texture, saturation, and intensity of color, used for sculptural effects and more. Check out the amazing new grounds to prepare truly, contemporary surfaces for painting, drawing, pastel, digital printing, and mixed media. And discover how acrylics can simulate oil and watercolor, even gouache, yet are infinitely more versatile. You don’t want to miss this free event, but registration is required so be sure to sign up soon via Tesia’s EventBrite page!
These ongoing demonstrations are just one of the many ways we at Village Art Supply strive to be the premier resource for students, artists, and teachers. We hope you’ll come in to our store for a demo or to just to visit and see all the art supplies and services we offer to the North Bay community.
